THE DIAL: 90% mint, the white and gold colored enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no hairlines, but an edge chip at 10.00. The dial with fine gold fleur-de-lys hands. Diameter is 38 mm. The inner crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely. THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a damasced three quarter plate and a regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and gold plated wheels. Thies. Did some further research. WwI watches usually had the military owners name on back. Watch found in Spokane wa. So was able to I’d the watch. William Adolph Thies. 1896-1984. Found him on a list of us army reserve officers list 1920. So this confirms this is almost certainly an id’d ww1 officer trench/conversion watch. Ww1 1914-1918. Or he became an officer right after the war ended. Looks like he would have been 25 or so in war years so he was also certainly drafted. Pretty cool. He passed away in seattle wa, again showing this was him, watch found in Spokane wa.
